In a moment of pride for Arunachal Pradesh, Khinsan Wangsu from Mintong village in Longding district has been selected among 13 elite athletes to represent India at the prestigious World University Games 2025, to be held in Germany.
Khinsan Wangsu’s journey to international recognition is a story of perseverance, discipline, and quiet determination. Her selection was secured through an outstanding performance at the trial selection event organized at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar (Punjab), in February 2025. Competing against top national athletes, Khinsan proved her mettle with skill and confidence, earning her spot on the Indian team.
she has won four gold, one silver, and two bronze medals in different national-level Taekwondo competitions. Among these, her two gold medals from the Goa and Uttarakhand National Games stand out as pivotal events in her sporting career.
She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Sports Science at the Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana. For her village and community, Khinsan is already a role model. Local leaders and well-wishers have expressed pride in her achievement, highlighting how her success puts Longding district and Arunachal Pradesh on the national sports map.
